Shanay Manitzky

Comes with certificate of authenticity.
Framed: Yes

Artist statement:

“Half full is a visual exploration of perspective and optimism. In my portrayal of the figure: actively drawing life from the drink, a symbiotic exchange emerges – colour and the monochrome.
Through the juxtaposition of the red hues and the muted tones, the careful observer is prompted to lightly contemplate, echoing the sentiment that the cup is half full.”

This is the first artwork where I draw directly on wood. I have been experimenting with different surfaces to draw on my entire art practice and was so surprised at how easy my drawing technique worked with the wooden surface.

This artwork was drawn with high quality artist pencils on a professional art board.

This artwork is professionally framed by Wide Bay Art Gallery. The colour of the frame was hand selected to complement the tones in the drawing.

This artwork was displayed in the exhibition "Echoes" at Side Gallery, Brisbane in Dec, 2023.

This artwork was a finalist in the “Petite Pieces” Art Prize at Aspire Gallery, Brisbane in Feb, 2024.

Packaged with love and shipped from Australia.
